A native of St. Petersburg, violinist Alexander Velinzon joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra in January 2000, became assistant concertmaster in 2005, and was promoted to associate concertmaster in 2015. Since then he has played as concertmaster under the direction of James Levine, Kurt Masur, Sir Colin Davis, Michael Tilson Thomas, and other leading conductors. In addition, he has been invited to play as concertmaster with such orchestras as the London Philharmonic, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Seoul Philharmonic, WDR Symphony Orchestra, and NDR Radio Philharmonic. An active performer of chamber music, Mr. Velinzon is a member of the Boston-based Walden Chamber Players and has appeared with the Boston Symphony Chamber Players. He has been seen playing chamber music in Europe, Japan, and the United States, and since 2009 has been a member of the LiveArts string quartet.
Mr. Velinzon began playing the violin at the age of six and graduated from the Leningrad School for Gifted Children. After coming to the United States, he continued his studies at the Manhattan School of Music and received bachelor's and master's degrees from the Juilliard School, working under the guidance of the renowned pedagogue Dorothy DeLay. He made his New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall as a winner of the Artist International Young Artists Auditions, after which Strad Magazine described his playing as "very musical and intensely serious." A prizewinner in the Heida Hermann International Competition in the United States and the Tibor Varga International Competition in Switzerland, he has performed as soloist with the National Symphony of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and in Venezuela; made his New York debut with the Jupiter Symphony playing a Paganini concerto, and served as soloist/concertmaster for the Paul Taylor Dance Company at New York's City Center. Mr.Velinzon's other solo engagements in the United States have included appearances with the Rondo Chamber Orchestra, Absolute Ensemble, Chappaqua Symphony, and the Metamorphoses Orchestra.

Sabina Dascalu is a romanian violinist based in Vienna, Austria, member of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Solists of Vienna Chamber Orchestra. At the beginning of 2023 she became a member of Moravská filharmonie Olomouc. She performs concert-tours in Europe, Asia, South America under the baton of great conductors such as Philippe Entremont, Enrique Mazzola, Stanislav Kochanovsky, Julian Rachlin, Wayne Marshall, Benjamin Bayl and prestigious soloists, among which Elina Garanca, Dalibor Karvay, Fumiaki Miura, Yevgeny Subdin, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, Sebastian Knauer, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Stefan Vladar, Elena Bashkirova .
Ms. Dascalu is a recording artist at Synchron Stage Studio in Vienna, creating film music recordings for Hollywood, Netflix, BBC. Brilliant projects, including scores of Hans Zimmer, Arturo Cardelus, Bear McCreary, Lorne Balfe. Among the movies, Oscar-nominated ''Over the moon'' (2020) and ''Klaus'' (2019).
She is a member of Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra since 2019 and she travels regularly to Kuala Lumpur.
In addition to her appearances as a soloist, chamber music has become an important aspect of Sabina's artistic work. She is currently a member of Duo Dascalu-Rudi.
Between 2015 and 2018, Ms. Dascalu worked as a violin teacher at "International Musikschule Wien" and "Studio Allegria". She is currently teaching private students.
Born in Bucharest, Romania, Sabina Dascalu took her first violin lessons at the age of 6. She studied in Bucharest at ''G. Enescu'' music highschool as well as in Vienna, at the University of Music and Performing Arts, in the class of Prof. Christian Altenburger (violin) and Johannes Meissl (chamber music). She became Magistra artium in 2015, after graduating with the highest distinction. In 2016 followed a postgraduate specialization in baroque violin with Hiro Kurosaki. She attended numerous masterclasses with members of Wiener Philharmoniker, Oslo String Quartet, Marianne Piketty, Jose Vazquez. Over the years, she performed at music festivals such as A. Prokopp Summeracademy of Wiener Philharmoniker in Salzburg (Austria), Summer Music Academy Schloß Hundisburg (Germany), Sonoro Chamber Music Festival (Romania) with many ensembles, covering a wide range of chamber music as well as orchestral repertoire. Sabina Dascalu has been awarded numerous prizes at international and national violin competitions and scholarships among which the ''Dr. Boesch Foundation'' scholarship.
Ms. Dascalu currently plays a Georg Klotz violin (1766).
